The CGF project started in 1994 when many rear suspension bikes were just entering the market. We wanted to develop a suspension specifically for a bicycle that did not borrow technology from the automotive or motorcycle world. The trailing link suspensions were too heavy and inefficient.

In 1996 we were awarded US Patent Number 5,553,880 that confirmed our belief that this was an innovative, new approach.

Our second prototype was heavy, but proved the concept well.
